Artist's Comments

Here is a Plastic Man sketch i threw some colors on. Wanted to do a crazy ink splatter Bg like in Ren and Stimpy but i am not good enough in photoshop to pull it off. If anyone is, and wants to take a shot at it it would be greatly appreciated. But for now here it is without a Bg. Will probably update this tomorrow sometime. Tell me what you think overall.

Great pose. I love how you did the eyes. @_@

Is Photoshop what you use?

It does look great, as usual.

Great pose, nice flow in the body, and great line work. I also like the way you colored the inside of the mouth. lol:)

Hahaha thanks.

Well i use Flash to color my work and then take it into photoshop to resize and rough it up a little to soften the overly digital feel in any way possible, but I am a complete moron when it comes to using the program otherwise.

ooh i love this. very dynamic and shows good depth and perspective. the only comment i wanna make is about the face. it looks a little too flat. the whole body has this volumetric look to it and when i come up to the face it's all flat, but maybe you were intending to keep it that way.

as for the background: why don't you come up w/ painting a traditional one. it'll show alot more power if it's painted by hand rather than using a computer program.

Overall it's too kick ass looking! i'd love to see more of this cartoon craziness from you.

Thanks! Yeah i can see your point with the flatness of the face. I tend to jump back and forth between more stylized graphic work and more round work. I guess the two merged a little in this and that was the result. Thanks for the well thought out critique, I really appreciate it. As for the BG, I may give something like that a shot, Maybe splatter some inks or paints on something. Thanks for the suggestion.

yeah i'm the same way. i sometimes can't control the roundness w/ the flatness in a drawing, but i think adding a bit flatness to a round cartoon character shows the cartoony side to the character, but that's just me.

I'm glad to be of help.
